Hello Autumn

THIS IS NOT A DRILL. The Fall Season is officially here and we must PREPARE! While some of you may be mourning the oncoming gray skies and sweater weather, I am gleefully pulling my boots out of the closet and untangling my scarf collection. I suppose I don't have to tell anyone that Fall is my favorite season, but it totally is. Fall gives us pumpkin spice lattes, new TV obsessions, and food comas (I LOVE IT). So here is a post for the like-minded fall lovers.

Pantone released it's Fall 2016 Color Report. What's that you ask? Well these are the colors that Pantone sees as influential in the visual world of design. Colors they predict you'll see repeating in areas such as fashion, interior, graphic, fabric, and furniture design throughout the Fall season. Take a look at the colors below.

So some of these colors seem familiar for a Fall pallet. I mean, Red Tones+ Autumn isn't really groundbreaking, but more of a time honored classic. Others such as the magenta and blue tones are a bit more fresh for the Fall scene, but all of them were carefully curated for a cohesive, and striking collection. Keep these colors in mind as we move through the following points...

As we move closer to the end of summer, some of you may be looking for ways to cozy up your living areas for the new season. Here are some tips and tricks form the Anne Sneed Team for making this Fall your home's best season yet!

Go Rustic

It's not uncommon to bring a little bit of nature into your home for the Fall season, wreaths, colored leaves, cinnamon pinecones, etc. but there are also some more understated ways to give your home a little bit of 'little house in the woods' appeal. Bring in some rustic accessories like raw rope or unfinished wood to bring your modern abroad a little closer to a Laura Ingles Wilder fantasy.

Seasonal Treasures

Fall is known for memories of crisp days spent climbing ladders and picking apples of various hues. While apples are definitely one of my favorite edible accessories, they aren't the only photogenic seasonal fruits that Fall has to offer. Pumpkins, pears, and grapes are all in season as well. Bring these seasonal colors and fruits into your home's design with the easy (and healthy) seasonal fruit display!

Cozy Accessories

Even living in San Diego, we do get the occasional chill. Cozy pillows and comfy throws are easy and relatively low cost additions to your home and easy to throw on over your bed or couch. Try out a soft faux fur, or a chunky knit and you'll have a hard time finding reasons to leave the house!

Dining in Style

Fall brings about food's biggest holiday...Thanksgiving! Even if you're not hosting this turkey day, you can still bring some seasonal color into your home with a table runner. If you've spent a lot of time picking out the perfect dining room table, go for an option that will highlight your table, not cover it. But if your family has waged a war of scratches and water rings, a table cloth can be a godsend. Either way, it's a simple way to put your unique style on display.

The Devil is in the Details

The Devil is in the Details

Sometimes I think people mistake the idea of ‘details’ in a space as small things – little things that you add here and there to make the space feel special, but that when it comes to details we should look at the bigger picture as well.
